Thistle Hook a Prize Catch in Macrae Office Fit Out

Thistle Corporate Interiors have completed the design and fit out of the superb new £10m seafood factory for Macrae Edinburgh Ltd, one of Scotland 's largest seafood companies producing fine chilled prepared seafood for Waitrose, the quality food shops of the John Lewis partnership.

Macrae, part of Young's Seafood, were looking to create corporate headquarters and production facility that would enable it to keep pace with the growth of their Waitrose business and allow further expansion of the product range.

Thistle's special projects team called upon all of their expertise in corporate interiors, canteen fit outs and storage solutions to design and deliver a stunning office interior that any company would be proud of.

Thistle's Interior Director, Jim Drysdale , explained "Thistle Systems Group is one of the very few companies equipped to take on such a diverse project that involved both Interior and storage equipment solutions and the design and installation of an high tech new product development kitchen, a restaurant area, board room, office areas, toilets and reception facilities as well as the locker room and pallet Racking for the warehouse.

As well as creating highly functional office suites with adequate but discreet storage solutions, Thistle added a number of flamboyant touches to reflect Macrae's innovative approach.

The superb 'floating' curved media wall in the reception area sets the tone for the high quality and attention to detail throughout the project. The Executive Washrooms boasts stunning Italian architectural finishes whilst the designer furniture in the reception, board room and meeting areas add the touch of class. And the piece de resistance is of course the New Product Development Kitchen where some of the finest chef's in the country develop and present the outstanding dishes that has made the company so successful.

Jim added, "This was a superb project for our team to work on with opportunities for our interiors team to unleash their creative skills and some more practical aspects that demanded the expertise and experience of our storage team. The key element however that made this job particularly satisfying was the superb response we received from the client, which is a testament to the extraordinary work put in by both our design and installation teams."
